PERSONALITY:
Quick Reference Guide
Lissa - Moroi - Childhood best friend. Rose's bondmate and the person Rose was intended to be the Guardian for. Closest thing to real family Rose has.
Dimitri - Dhampir (Formerly Strigoi) - Mentor, former love interest. Was turned Strigoi during an attack on the school. Rose fought to find a way to turn him back and once she did, he told her he was no longer in love with her.
Mason - Dhampir - Deceased. Trained with Rose to become a Guardian. She tried dating him rather than pine after her mentor but never really loved him. Died when he, Rose and several others were taken by Strigoi.
Moroi - A vampire that needs blood and food to survive. They are born, age and die. They have the ability to wield magic.

Dhampir - Half Human, Half Moroi.
Guardian - Dhampir who train to protect the Moroi from the Strigoi. Warrior Bodyguards.
Bloodwhore - Women, usually Dhampir, who allow Moroi to feed on them during sex.
St Vladimir Academy - Where Dhampir & Moroi can be educated while protected from the Strigoi.
Few people know the true Rose Hathaway. They see her as reckless and mouthy. Somebody who cares little for anyone or anything and even less for the rules and opinions of authority figures. Though some, if not all of this is true, it's not an accurate reflection of the real Rose. To truly know her, you only have to look at her relationship with her best friend Vasilisa Dragomir. For years now, Rose has been taking care of the unstable Moroi. Taking the blame for her actions whenever she has flown off the handle and even at one point, choosing to abandon a life she greatly enjoyed at the Academy, to go on the run in order to protect her.
She proved in her time away from the Academy, that she was willing to sacrifice a great deal in order to protect the people she loves. She allowed Lissa to feed on her, despite the negative connotations associated with it (Dhampirs who let Moroi feed on them get labeled Blood-Whores), how weak she would be afterward, and the risk of becoming addicted to Moroi bites; Like being injected with heroin every time you are bitten. She was forever trying to put Lissa's needs and safety ahead of her own. Though all Dhampir training to be Guardians are taught that they (the Moroi) come first, Rose's commitment to Lissa has proven to go beyond that.
She's determined (or stubborn if you will) when she needs to be, especially when she feels she has to prove herself. The easiest way to get Rose to do something is by telling her that she can't. Consequently, however, this can lead Rose to do things that are either unwise or just plain foolish. She often feels a need to prove herself and this at one point led not only to her capture but the eventual death of her one-time boyfriend and good friend, Mason, all because Rose gave into the pressure from her friends rather than do what she knew to be the right thing.
There are some things about Rose on the other hand, that are exactly as they appear. She speaks her mind, whether it's appropriate or not. She won't take crap from anyone and the only hope you ever have of getting her to not go down the road of 'don't get mad, get even', is if doing so puts the people she loves at risk. Respect and trust is something a person must earn and doesn't come easily. She prefers to solve her problems with her fists rather than words. She somehow manages to be both guarded, and yet wear her heart on her sleeve (Especially when it comes to her mentor, Dimitri), a side effect for the most part from being shadow-kissed. Despite all her faults (and she knows there are many), she wants to be the very best that she can be, if not for herself, then for Lissa. She wants to be worthy of the title of Guardian and has worked every day to make that happen.
If her life wasn't complicated enough already, Rose is shadow-kissed. Though this may not affect her in any game setting the exact same way it did back home, the event that caused this greatly changed Rose's life, and with or without the bond, she is still greatly defined by this. To be shadow-kissed is to have died, and be brought back to life by a Moroi who has the rare magical gift of Spirit. Spirit magic allows the user to heal and in rare circumstances, resurrect a person that has passed on. In bringing Rose back, Lissa's powers as a spirit user blossomed, and she forged a seemingly permanent bond between the two. Rose has been able to not only read Lissa's mind, but enter it, see through Lissa's eyes. The bond was only one way, which meant that though Lissa could send thoughts through to Rose, Rose was unable to communicate with her (without the help of another Spirit user.)
There was, however, a severe downside to being shadow-kissed. Spirit users are by nature, very unstable, and the more they use their magic, the worse it gets. As the person bonded to Lissa, Rose absorbs some of the darkness that would overcome her. Though it made Lissa better, Rose was prone to moods, sudden outbursts and even uncontrollable fits of rage. The best way to deal with that was to wear objects charmed with Spirit, or to receive small healings from Lissa. She could control the rage to a degree, but eventually, something had to give and more often than not, the result was not pretty.
With the bond seemingly no longer intact, Rose would feel as though a piece of herself is missing. For the last four years she has had to think for two people and try and balance the wants and needs of both. She has almost forgotten what it means to make choices based solely on her own needs and desires, and though the prospect of being on own would have been frightening in her own world, it will actually give Rose the opportunity to grow and mature in ways that were never possible before.
Despite small moments of doubt, Rose has always accepted the path her life has taken, believing her choices are between a willingness to die for others in the pursuit of stopping a race of evil Vampires, and becoming food for the very people she seeks to protect. This black and white view isn't entirely accurate but it is how Rose perceives the situation. Rose doesn't see anything wrong with the life she has led until now. She accepts the idea that she will likely die, protecting the Moroi because she believes it's the right thing to do. It never occurs to her, that in the eyes of many, the Dhampir could be seen as a slave race.
Like all Dhampir who train to be Guardians, Rose seems much older than her age may suggest. Imagine being taken from your home from a very young age and raised to fight an enemy who is stronger, faster and shows no mercy. With a life expectancy of mid-twenties - younger if you aren't as gifted as others - there isn't a lot of time to be young and foolish. In her earlier years, Rose may have been more frivolous than her peers (drinking, not paying attention in class, almost never picking up a book), but once she saw first-hand just how dangerous the real world was, Rose cast aside her youth. Or perhaps it's better to say that she had it ripped away from her when she was forced to see first-hand just how powerful and deadly Strigoi can be.
Still, she is Eighteen years old. She has moments of emotional immaturity. She hasn't learned that some fights aren't worth having. She has over the years, railed against the mother she believed abandoned her for her own career as a Guardian, which is perhaps why she's had little to no regard for authority figures. She is still naive enough to believe that society's opinions shouldn't matter if you feel it is right. She seems immune to all rules of society, treating the Queen of The Moroi with the same indifference that she may have treated a fellow Guardian in training if she feels that they are wrong. She can be unfairly judgmental, though finds a way to justify it in her mind. She is arrogant - sometimes deservedly so but sometimes too much for her own good. She is both fearless, yet utterly frightened at the same time but at the core of it, she is a good person. Sometimes that just gets lost along the way.
POWERS:
COMBAT
Rose has trained to be a Guardian from the time she was a child. She is an extremely skilled fighter, in both armed and unarmed combat. Though she may be smaller than many of her opponents, she has trained to use her size and speed to her advantage. She has effectively been trained as a bodyguard for the last thirteen years at an Academy, but canon suggests that her training began before that as she could hit a moving target on her first day of class, at age five.
It's worth noting that even by her world's standards, Rose is considered an exceptional fighter. While seen to be naturally gifted, she has also worked extremely hard to achieve what she has. She is one of the only Dhampir to ever receive Tattoos for killing Strigoi, before she officially became a Guardian and even the trial she underwent had been altered to make it harder for her, so it would actually be a challenge. Not only has she bested seasoned Guardians in battle, but she has managed to best Guardians who had been turned into Strigoi.
DHAMPIR STRENGTH + AGILITY + SENSES + HEALTH.
As a Dhampir, Rose is a little more than your average human. Far from superpowered, Rose still has slightly enhanced strength, reflexes, endurance, sight, smell and hearing. She heals a little faster than your average human (though is still subject to recovery times like everyone else) and her strong immune system means she's less likely to fall victim to cold, flu, or other allergies. She's Human Plus more than she is Super Human.
SENSE UNDEAD [Shadow-kissed Ability]
Rose has the ability to sense Vampire's (Called Strigoi in her Canon). It doesn't have pinpoint accuracy - if she's surrounded by a bunch of undead people she'll just know they're around but won't be able to tell who it is. Now with different Vampires in different canons, the rules are never the same so I'll leave it up to the player and or mods if she can sense it in a character or not. Maybe there's some weird glitch in the setting that interferes with her abilities.
You can read more about Strigoi here if you want a better idea of things.
SIXTH SENSE [Shadow-kissed Ability]
Rose can also see dead people. (You know you just read that like the little kid from Sixth Sense). For the most part, this isn't an issue because she keeps a mental guard up that keeps them away. It can be used as a weapon of sorts. Most people will not be able to see or be attacked by the spirits that Rose channels but if you are dead or even died once then you potentially could.
Spirits can't physically hurt a Vampire in her canon, but they sure can make life hard for them. They'll try and attack (without any success but bless their dead souls for giving it a go) the nearest person who they consider to be unnaturally alive.
(This could potentially apply to any character that was brought back through supernatural means; i.e Buffy Summers (BTVS) Jack Harkness (TW) Peter Hale (TeWo) to name a few).
The chances of this happening in the game are low because letting the spirits through hurts Rose as well but she's discovered it can come in use when she's in a jam.
Again - different rules for different canons so glitches can happen. It's up to the player and or Mods if a character can see/be a target for the Spirits or not.
COMPULSION RESISTANCE
In canon, Dhampirs are resistant to it - they can still be compelled of course, but they're harder to compel than an average human and Rose seems to be more resistant than other Dhampir.
I'll always try and respect a characters canon with this. IE. A TVD Original (Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah etc) or say, Eric Northman from SVM/True Blood? I'm going to assume every time that they have no problems compelling Rose because they're older/more powerful in that sense.
Anyone else? I will literally roll a dice to see if she successfully resists the compulsion or not.
BOND [Shadow-kissed Ability]
In any game that Vasilisa Dragomir is present, where their Spirit Bond is in place, any time you talk to Lissa, Rose can, in theory, have overheard the whole conversation. She can not only hear Lissa's thoughts, get impressions of her emotions but she can see through her eyes (though not take control). In other words, constant spy cam. I'm not saying she WILL hear and everything but for a conversation between Lissa and somebody to be private, Lissa needs to actively try and keep Rose out of her head. If I don't see her block Rose out, then I assume it's possible Rose could have listened in and Rose isn't always great at not using what she hears in a conversation down the line.
ANIMALS
Animals don't like Dhampir. Nobody seems to know why and while they won't always turn aggressive towards her for no reason, that is possible. A cat is more likely to hiss at her than curl up in her lap, for example.
BLOOD
It's said that Moroi blood makes a Strigoi stronger, faster and therefore harder to kill. As a Dhampir, Rose's blood is similarly advantageous but not as potent as that of a Moroi.

MISC
PLANS: Rose is going to be itching to go out on missions because she doesn't sit still and do nothing, well. That said, much of what I'm looking forward to doing with her in the immediate future, is seeing how she adjusts to being away from Moroi society. Her unusual upbringing, while perfectly normal to her, would mark her as different to many she encounters. Purely through the development of CR, Rose will be forced to examine the less savory aspects of her own life.
ITEM: A silver stake that has been infused with magic. Does nothing but stab normal people but can burn (and destroy) an undead creature.
CHARACTER @ID SUGGESTIONS: @littledhampir (it's a nickname) @reckless @shadowkissed idek my creativity dried up right there. Feel free to make it whatever you guys think. Alternatively, if you want to piss her off; @bloodbag
HOW DID YOUR CHARACTER JOIN COST? Rose was approached after she'd escaped from prison, where she was facing a likely death penalty for a crime she didn't commit. Well aware that her chances of survival were minimal and that she would be unlikely to ever return to the only life she had ever known, COST offered Rose an opportunity to not only continue fighting for what she was being told was a just cause, but to stop others from having the same future that she fears her own race is doomed to; One where free will and choice, is of little consequence.
Last but maybe not least ?! This might be vaguely useful to you guys, especially if anyone is canonblind. Its a D20 Modern character sheet for her. Keeping in mind that she's into Epic levels in this game and it also is a game that allows us to purchase a limited number of feats in order to fit in with IC development etc making her way more OP than your average everyday Tabletop character. It does, however, give you a good sense of strengths and weaknesses from a tabletop point of view.
